The SEF is growing, modernizing and creating an… Olympic state

The icing on the cake in the fiesta for winning the championship was put by Panagiotis Angelopoulos announcing that Olympiacos will own the Peace and Friendship Stadium. The procedures with the government to ensure the “red and white” ownership of the stadium, with a deal similar to that of Panathinaikos for OAKA, are in their final stage and announcements are expected immediately.

KAE Olympiacos will get the use of the SEF for a period estimated at 50 years (to be clarified soon) and will now have the freedom to do whatever he wants, without permits and time-consuming bureaucratic procedures, for the best use of it. The stadium is already quite old, 38 years old to be exact, and it needs several interventions.

Immediately, from Monday itself (!), the first works will begin. Olympiacos will take him on at its own expense modernization of facilitiesinternal and external. Capacity will increase, initially by approximately 400 seats that will be placed on the parquet, while it will reach approximately another 1,500 in the next period with the appropriate arrangements. In the next period the old white and yellow seats in the stands will be replaced by new, red and white ones. At the same time, a new VIP Lounge will be created, which will accommodate the officials, while there will be a reformation in the press rooms, in the press room, as well as in the toilets and canteens.

All these works will be done in parallel with the competitive action of the team, that is there will be no need for Olympiacos to… go astray. At the same time, the red and white KAE will have the possibility to create some commercial exploitation areas, offering the possibility to the fans to spend their time pleasantly before and after the games. In fact, with the existence of “G. Karaiskakis” opposite the SEF, but also the provision for the construction of a swimming pool in the same area (the lease contract has been signed a year ago), something like an Olympic state will be createdwith facilities for football, basketball and polo within a very short distance of each other.

This whole project is calculated by KAE Olympiacos, always in combination with the team’s progress, to significantly increase its income and thus its ability to remain at the highest level in the Euroleague as well.
