Matarita officially in Mars – He signed a three-year contract

Ronald Alberto Matarrita Ulate, as his full name is, was born on July 9, 1994 in San Ramon, Costa Rica and took his first professional steps in football at LD Alajuelense.

After the excellent performances in his country, New York City gave him the opportunity to compete in the USA. in January 2016.

His presence there was significant and after 121 games (4 goals, 9 assists) in New York, FC Cincinnati bought him in January 2021.

Two years later the circle of the 28-year-old international defender in America was closed, with SK Dnipro-1 bringing him to Europe for the first time last January.

Ronald Matarrita has played as an international with all the development sections of the Costa Rican national team, while he has been an important member of the men’s national team for years (54 appearances, 3 goals).

“A new challenge in my career”

“ARIS is a new challenge in my career and I’m really looking forward to the experience with my new team.

I talked to my friends who played in Greece, like Campbell, who played in Olympiakos and Nunes in Lamia, and they urged me to come to ARIS. They spoke to me in the best words about the team, its fans and the unique atmosphere they create at our headquarters.

So I’m waiting to experience it up close. Of course I also did my own research and it was not difficult to make the decision to come to ARIS.

I have played in MLS and in Ukraine and now in Greece. I like there to be pressure because through pressure you improve and in ARIS it makes sense to have pressure because it is a big club.

Our fans can be sure that they will see a player who will give 100% and honor the jersey of ARIS.

As for our goals, our first goal in terms of time is the Europa Conference League matches. My ambitions are high and I want to get into the groups. We have the quality and with hard work I believe we will succeed.
