The women’s national volleyball team defeated Egypt’s counterpart 3-1 in the third friendly match between them in Arta, in view of the participation of the representative group in the finals of the European Championship next September.
Yunus Otsal again made several attempts, but the Greek team was superior in all areas and, with the exception of the third set, comfortably prevailed over the Africans.
“We had here in Arta a youth group that worked for about two weeks and we wanted to see which gymnasts can help the main group that starts work from Wednesday. And the matches with Egypt took place for this reason without us being interested in the result. It was good that we won, of course, but we want to pass a different mentality to the team and I’m happy to see that,” said the Turkish international after the match.
The sets: 25-14, 25-22, 16-25, 25-16
*Greece’s points came from 9 aces, 54 attacks, 10 blocks and 18 opponent errors and Egypt’s from 3 aces, 43 attacks, 10 blocks and 21 opponent errors.
