Dnipro coach: “Panathinaikos will probably be the favorite, they have many capable players”

With the Dnipro Panathinaikos was drawn for its second qualifying round Champions League.

The coach of the Ukrainian team, Alexander Kutcherspoke about the “clover”, stating that it is probably the favorite of many skilled players on his roster.

Everything he said in detail:

“From the moment we saw our potential opponents we understood that they are difficult teams. Of course, we will prepare in the best possible way for these matches. Panathinaikos will probably be the favorite, because their league is stronger.

The most important thing for Panathinaikos is that it has fans who passionately support their team and become the 12th player. Of course, these matches will be difficult for us but I believe we will find opportunities, as in every match. We will be fully focused, especially in the first match.”

Is there something in common between Dnipro and Panathinaikos, that until the end both teams were contending for the championship, but in the end they finished second?

“I see no point in making such parallels. There is Dnipro, there is Panathinaikos and everything will be decided on the field”.

How do you see the fact that Bernard-Verbich, who are well-known in Ukraine, play for Panathinaikos?

“These are really well-known footballers to us. But the opponent has many skilled players, so we will analyze them all and prepare accordingly. We will watch the friendlies they give. It will be a very important duel for us.”

Based on the experience of your career as a player, what are the main characteristics of Greek football?

“Usually there are teams that play attacking football, plus there are good footballers who like to run in attack. To all this I should add that their fans will help them a lot.”
