The Piraeus Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) organizes scientific scientific espionage on the subject ‘Forests and Climate Change: The Case of Parnon’on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 18:00, at the Museum of Olive and Greek Oil in Sparta. The event is taking place on the occasion of the international day to reduce the risk of disaster and admission is free to the public.
The Esperta is based on the new edition of PIOP, released in 2024, with writers Costas Kartalis, Nancy Selentis, Penelope Matsouka and Alexandra Tanta. During the event the impact of the climate change In the Parnon Forest Landscape, as well as the actions necessary to enhance forest resilience.
In addition, the design methodology of the version will be analyzed and the first conclusions from its pilot implementation in the Parnon area will be presented.
The speakers include Kostas Kartalis, Professor of Physical Environment and Climate of the NCSR and PIOP Scientific Advisor, Panagiotis Dimopoulos, Professor of Botanical and Ecology and President of the Department of Biology of the University of Patras Museum.
