7th Panhellenic Cheerleading Championship: Polyniki club was named the Hellenic Star

It was carried out with absolute success 7th Panhellenic Championship Cheerleading in the Indoor Olympic Facilities, “Nikos Galis”, on June 23 and 24, 2023. More than 1,000 sportsmen and women Cheerleading from 22 member clubs of the Hellenic Cheerleading Federation.

Polynikis club emerged the Greek Star from Thessaloniki, winning 10 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals (total 14). In second place is the club Amazons (Vari & Ilioupoli) with 8 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze (total 13). Finally, in 3^the position found the Hyades with 4 gold and 3 silver (total 7).

After the games, the president of the Hellenic Cheerleading Federation, Michalis Fundedakis stated: “Congratulations to all the athletes for their dynamic performances at the Panhellenic Championship. The judges from the World and European Federation of the sport were once again impressed by the high level of competition we have achieved in Greece. Let’s congratulate all the coaches of the clubs for the important work they do and of course thank all the parents who trust us with their children. We thank all the people who contributed to the holding of the Panhellenic Championship and honored the event with their presence”.

The presence of the Navy band was important, to the rhythm of which the parade of the teams and the playing of the National Anthem during the opening ceremony took place. In addition, the song We Are The Champions was played for the sake of the athletes and the world famous Zorbas for the spectators.

In parallel with the Panhellenic Cheerleading Championship 2023, the World Olympic Day was celebrated with the cooperation of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Academy. The president of ETHNOA and member of E.O.E., Mr. Giorgos Alikakos, was present at the Closed of OAKA, while E.O.E was also represented by Ms. Alexandra Pallis. The backing of the Olympic Anthem was done by the Navy band.

This year’s Olympic Day is dedicated to physical activity through the slogan Let’s Move! So young and old are sending their own message to be active, encouraging people to devote some of their time to physical activity every day and to feel the mental and physical benefit of an active lifestyle.

Now the competitive action for the sport of Cheerleading turns to the European Championship that will be held July 1-2, 2023 in Verona and the Greek delegation is traveling to Italy with 273 athletes from 7 clubs.
