One solution is to hold the draw immediately after that of the regular duration of the championshipwith numbers that will correspond to the position that each team will occupy in the regular season, i.e. for the playoffs from 1 to 6 and for the playouts from 7 to 14.
If this cannot be done technically, due to the keys that will be needed if security or locality issues arise when the ranking is formed, such as for example PAOK and Aris matching, the second solution is to make the draw after the end of the regular seasonbut manually as in the international competitions, with balls that will be pulled by the representatives of the teams, so that this travesty that we experienced in last year’s playoffs is not repeated.
And in this process there can be key figures. I don’t think anyone would object to putting in place safeguards to ensure credibility and transparency and to eliminate suspicion and weird scenarios.“, Kosmas explained.
After all, as the doubles note, it was decided that the competent department of the League would draw up a possible implementation plan for three scenarios (the third emerged after the discussion that took place) and the final decision to be taken at the next Board of Directors, as the positives and negatives regarding the implementation of each of them are first examined and discussed.
The three scenarios are:
A) Draw of the playoffs (with ranking numbers) at the same time as that for the regular season
B) Draw after the completion of the regular season, but with balls
C) Fully electronic lottery (in which all parameters and key numbers will be entered), but with the production of several outcome-scenarios (that is, to result from it, for example, 10 or 20 possible programs) and then with a numbered ball to be determined which of these will make up the final playoff schedule.
