On the occasion of its meeting EEP and its modifications KIMThe PSAPP issued the following announcement and sent a letter to EPOto its Legal Service and to the members of the EEP, which it communicated to UEFA and FIFPRO.
The PSAPP announcement in detail:
“On the occasion of publications, postings on social media and other similar matters, the PSAPP, in order to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings or misinterpretations, must inform its members – and not only – of the following:
– At today’s meeting of the PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL COMMITTEE (EEP), in which the PSAPP also participates, one of the items on the agenda was the discussion and decision-making on the proposed amendments to the KIMP.
– The PSAPP, from 28/4/2023, when in implementation of the suggestion of the EPO, it sent, as every year, its proposals, although for two (2) months it waited for the invitation of the EPO, the latter sent on 26/06/ 2023 the agenda for the meeting of the EEP on 29/6/2023, with the 7th topic KIMP. Also, while it did not send the proposals of the other partners (Super League 1 & Super league 2), as it does every year, it sent a unilaterally formed by itself KIMP plan on the afternoon of June 27, 2023, i.e. 1.5 days before the meeting of the EEP. It is emphasized that the EPO, in order to complete the process of validating the new KIMP, failed to implement the stage of consultation with the other partners.
– Additionally, in the KIMP plan and in its Annex, the EPO, in the absence of the PSAPP, contrived to “adopt” a series of articles concerning sports succession.
– The above behavior, as a whole, was and is incomprehensible and constitutes an institutional deviation.
– PSAPP reacted immediately. On the evening of 28 June 2023, he sent a letter to the EPO, its Legal Service and the members of the EEP, which he communicated to UEFA and FIFPRO. This letter, which contains the vertical positions of the PSAPP, was also registered in the minutes of today’s EEP meeting.
– The PSAPP, during today’s meeting of the EEP, re-developed its positions and presented its explicit and clear claims on all the above issues and especially on the withdrawal – deletion of the articles that were unilaterally “added” to the Annex of the KIMP and concern the sporting succession.
– The EEP, with its binding decision, concluded, among other things, the withdrawal of these articles.
– PSAPP did the obvious, i.e. immediately highlighted and prevented an unwanted deviation, safeguarding, with institutional ethics, increased reflexes and composed movements, the legal interests of itself and its members.
– Any adoption of any other version or any attempt to unilaterally re-adopt such or corresponding articles anywhere else will constitute the confirmation of the diversion attempted or the creation of a new one.
– PSAPP was and will be constantly present, ready to do whatever is required to restore any unwanted arrhythmia”.
