The 58-year-old returns to the benches after his second term at OFIwith Levadeako’s announcement standing, among other things, on his football career Niopliaboth as a player and as a coach.

“PAE Levadeiakos is pleased to announce that Nikos Nioplias is the new coach of our team.
He is a highly accomplished technician, one of the leading football people in Greece, with a great career and a long career both as a football player and as a coach.
Born on 17/1/1965 in Kozani, he started his professional career from OFI, where he played in two different periods (1983-1993, 1996-2002), while in between he wore the shirt of Panathinaikos (1993-1996), closing the his career in Chalcedon (2002-04). During his career as a player, he won two Championships (with Panathinaikos) and three Cups (one with OFI and two with Panathinaikos), counting 510 appearances in the First National Team.
Of course, he also had a great presence in the Greek National Team (44 caps/1 goal), being a member of the team that competed in the World Cup in America in 1994, while with the Elpidon National Team he competed in the final of the European Championship in 1988.
As a coach, his first stop was the National Youth Team (U19), which he even led to the final of the European Youth Championship in Austria in 2007. He was then “promoted” to the National Team of Hope (U21), to take over halfway through the 2009- 2010 the bench of Panathinaikos and lead it to the double.
He then coached the Cyprus National Team for two years (2011-13), then took over Atromitos (2015-16), followed by two more terms on the bench of OFI (2016-17 and 2021-22).
