by

An interview from Burg-Haamstad, the Netherlands, where AEK is carrying out the main stage of its preparation, granted by Niklas Eliasson.

The Swedish winger spoke to “AEKTV” -which on Tuesday (4/7, 14:00) will broadcast the friendly between “Enos” and Lokomotiva Zagreb, emphasizing that the “yellow and black” are a family that does not like a draw.

He reflected on what he went through with his team last season (his first in yellow and black) on the way to winning the double, his personal difficult time with his serious injury and the support he had on his comeback. He also answered the question why AEK deserved these two trophies, while he singled out the most important moments while also looking towards the future.

It should be noted that the relevant video shows, among others, the Matias Almeida to kisses the AEK logo.

In detail, Niklas Eliason’s interview with “AEKTV”:

That’s why we deserved…

I think we played very good football. We tried to be very aggressive and also the main reason is that we played like a family, we all worked very hard together. All the players, the staff, everyone around the club, the fans. We really deserved to get both titles.

From outside Europe, in the double…

As I said we had a lot of new players and new staff, in general a lot of new faces came into the team and it was important that from the beginning we worked very hard to succeed and have a great season. It was definitely an amazing feeling when we managed to achieve the double for the third time in the team’s history. A very big moment for everyone and of course we are very happy.

The victory at “Vikelidis”

Definitely the last away match against Aris, which we managed to win at the same time and the other results were as we wanted. The whole season has of course had important moments, but this last week was a very big occasion for us. And the match against Volos, the victory and the whole atmosphere in the stadium, were amazing.

We were learning something, but first we had to win…

I remember that during the match we had a small briefing from the bench, but we tried to focus on ourselves, because we were winning 1-2 and we had to win our game first of all and then hope that the things. It was a big moment, of course there were celebrations but in the dressing room, but we immediately had to stay fully focused for another week, to win Volos and take the championship.

A draw was never enough…

I think throughout the season we were confident about the quality of the team and whoever we played we knew we had the quality to win. In all the matches we entered to win and we also showed in the away derbies that we did not go to any of them to play for the one point. We entered everything to win and that played a role in the end to show that we deserved the title.

The motivation to return

We had some bad times with injuries, I broke my leg in the middle of the season. It was very difficult for sure, but both I, and the other kids who had injuries, felt the support of the club, the fans. All the messages you get give you a lot of stimulation and motivation to come back and at the end of the season we can all succeed together and enjoy it together.

Cup with the spirit of the champion…

I don’t think we felt that much pressure. We went into the final having won the championship and had a lot of faith in our team. We knew we were going into the match as champions. We were confident, of course it was a very difficult start to the match when we were down to ten men, but the team again showed their fighting spirit and to win this match 2-0 was a very big moment for the team. Very good time.

Building more beautiful memories..

We are here again for the preparation and as you can see we are working very hard. It’s a new season, what’s done in the previous season is done and now we have to continue and build even more beautiful memories together.
