Panathinaikos’ announcement in detail:

KAE Panathinaikos announces the return of Constantinos Mitoglou to our team for the next three years.

Konstantinos Mitoglou was born in Thessaloniki on June 11, 1996, he is 2.10m tall. and competes in position “4”.

He started playing basketball at the Asteria academy and in the summer of 2013 he transferred to Aris, competing in three games of the A1 championship. The following season he moved to the United States to attend Wake Forest University. In his three-year NCAA tenure he averaged 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

In 2017 he signed with Panathinaikos where he stayed until 2021, winning four Championships (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021) and two Greek Cups (2019, 2021).

His best season with the team was his last (2020-2021) where he averaged 9.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in the Greek league, while in the Euroleague he had 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds in 34 games.

In the summer of 2021 he wore the EA7 Emporio Armani Milan jersey and in February 2022 he celebrated with it the victory of the Italian Cup.

Mitoglou made eight appearances with the National Youth Team, with whom he competed in the 2012 European Championship, while he has played 23 times with the Youth National Team, participating in the European Championships in 2013 and 2014. In 2015, he participated in the World Championship with the National Team Young Men, taking fourth place.

In 2017, he made his debut in the Men’s National Team, playing in 5 matches and participating in the Acropolis Tournament. He also competed in the games for the qualifying phase of the World Cup 2019. In total, with our National team he has participated in 22 matches counting 8.55 on average.

In his first statements after his return to Panathinaikos, Konstantinos Mitoglou emphasized to paobc.gr: “I am very happy to return home. I don’t want to say many words, except to thank Dimitris Giannakopoulos from the bottom of my heart for the trust and love he showed me, all the people of Panathinaikos and of course the world of the team who never stopped being by my side my.
