From Friday until next Sunday, Florina will host the 7th International Table Tennis Festival in the closed gymnasium of the city’s DAK. This is a tournament established by the local A.S.E.A. Sarises and which meets a significant response from the surrounding countries. It is the only international tournament that is consistently organized every year in Greece, includes competitions for men and women, but also in age categories and has financial prizes for the Open category.
The organizer is the Sarises of Florina and the co-organizers are the Region of Western Macedonia, the Municipality of Florina and the Active Youth Club of Florina. The competitions are under the supervision of E.F.O.E.P.A.
In the latest press release for the event, the Sarises also mention: “The Festival includes the singles event with athletes divided into age categories and an Open Championship (open) for men and women of any age. The open is paid. The interest is very great from Greece and the surrounding countries and the participants reached 150. They come from Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Hungary.
The Festival that takes place every year in Florina is the only international one in our country and is gradually gaining popularity not only in our region, but also in the Balkan countries.
