End of an era for one of the “forms” of European stadiums!
THE Gigi Datome announced his decision to retire from active duty, after the 2023 World Cupwhen she will strengthen her national team Italy.
Nevertheless, the great Italian forward emphasized that his relationship with basketball does not stop, since he will remain at Armani Milan and take on another position.
In his last professional season, Datome played in 6 EuroLeague games for Milan, averaging 3.7 points, 0.8 rebounds and 1.7 PIR.
His career best season came in 2015-16 when he averaged 12.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 13.3 PIR in 29 EuroLeague appearances for Fenerbahce. The following season, he won the Euroleague with the Turkish team, playing excellently in the final against Olympiakos.
During his career, the great shooter played for Siena, Scafati, Virtus Roma, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Fenerbahçe and Armani.
