Turn in the acquisition of a scorer guard from Olympiakos

by

THE Olympic closed position “4” by adding it Luke Sikma and now there are logically only two pieces left to complete the new season’s roster puzzle.

Emphasis has now been given to acquiring a guard, who will be able to score and be a good shooter. Giorgos Bartzokas knows that with the loss of Slukas and Vezenkovs he has lost two valuable players for the offensive part of the team and wants to fill the gaps in a different way.

The “red and whites” added a very high-quality player in the face of Nikola Milutinov and expect a lot more scoring and even more creation from the “5” this year. The “4” will be missing the points of Sasha Vezenkov, but with Luke Sikma there will be another playmaking pole. Nigel Williams-Goss, who was not there last year, will also contribute to the score, but the bulk of the scoring weight is meant to be taken by the guard to be acquired.

The Piraeus they are looking for solutions in the market by also looking at the NBA, since the options from Europe are very limited. The budget they have available is more than enough for a very good move, as they left two big contracts, Sluka and Vezenkov (with the latter also having a buyout), while the addition of Sikma was quite economical. The case of Tyler Dorsey now seems impossible, since the player has a very big offer from Panathinaikos and still has a valid contract with Fenerbahce.

At the same time, Olympiacos wants to add one more player to the front line, but there are thoughts about whether he should go for a ninth foreigner (there are currently seven, Goss, McKissick, Kanaan, Shikma, Peters, Fal and Milutinov, with the eighth being the guard). Perhaps such an addition will be made later or during the season, depending on whether such a need becomes apparent. However, it is open to acquire a young Greek, with Prometheus’ Tanoulis in mind.
