Olympiacos “raised” even more in the block!

The Greek champions and European Cup winners, after his return Mitar Djuric but also the contract renewal of Allen Pagenk, they added another “cog” to their center, announcing the acquisition of the 26-year-old Greek central, Vangelis Vaiopouloswho last two years competed with the OFI jersey in the Volley League.

The announcement in detail:

OLYMPIAN S.F.P. announces the start of his collaboration with Vangelis Vaiopoulos. The Greek center (born 11/3/1997, 2.03m) signed his new contract and joins the roster of the club’s Men’s Volleyball team.

In the last two seasons, the 26-year-old center played in OFI, while from 2019 to 2021, he played abroad, in Hungary (Kecskemet) and Austria (Union Volleyball Raiffeisen Waldviertel). In 2019-20, with Kecskemet’s jersey, he emerged as the top blocker in the Hungarian league, as well as in the Cup.

The statement of Vangelis Vaiopoulos on olympiacossfp.gr: “It is my great joy and honor to now belong to this huge team and family of Olympiakos! It is a great opportunity and motivation for me, as an athlete, to compete for the colors of Olympiakos, in combination with my new high-level teammates and coach Castellani. I want to thank the president and the coaching staff for their trust in me. For my part, I will give 100% of my abilities to help the team achieve its goals. I hope and invite Olympiakos fans to be by our side throughout the season on the field, giving a pulse from the stands. I wish we have a year without injuries, many victories and trophies.”
