Donovan Marshall-Johnson was born on May 25, 1992 and is 2.01 meters tall. During the 2022-2023 season, he played for Amydas in the Elite League Erricos Dunan and was the top scorer (18 points on average) and first in the evaluation of his team (17.8 points).

During his high school years he received several honors as a member of Shelby County where he averaged 16.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. He then found himself in the NJCAA with Wabash Valley where he was outstanding for two years even leading his team to a 27-5 record.

In the 2012-2013 season he switched to the NCAA and the Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers where he was even better. He had 9.1 points-5.2 rebounds on 51.3% shooting and 46.4% on 3-pointers (best on his team) in about 22 minutes of action.
