“The significant successes recorded on Sunday, July 16 by our sportsmen and women, in all ages and categories, certify that Greek sports is on a path of progress.
Continuing the great tradition of Greek basketball, our National Youth Men’s team won the bronze medal in the corresponding European championship. Many congratulations to all team members. With a lot of hard work they will stay on the road to success.
Many congratulations to all the members of the National Athletics team, who participated in the U23 Pan-European Championship. Honorable mention to Elina Tzengo, Panagiota Dosis, Polyniki Emmanouilidou and Georgia Despollaris for the medals they won. Our classical sport is on a clear upward trajectory.
The children of our National Children’s team (K15) in water polo won the bronze medal in the European Championship. And they deserve all the praise, as they continue the tradition of Greek polo.
After Nasos Gavelas, Manolis Stefanoudakis won, in the F54 javelin, the second gold medal at the World Athletics Championships for the Disabled and gave Greece its 5th Paralympic qualification for the 2024 Games. Congratulations to the entire team.
