Nikifora entered the 20th World Championship of Fukuoka n Men’s National Polo Team overpowering me Australia’s 13-9.
His team Thodori Vlachou faced the… anxiety of the premiere and needed to come in the second eight minutes to break away with two goals (6-4). Australia equalized at 6-6, but the Greek internationals responded in an exemplary fashion and broke away with 12-8 and 13-9, reaching the victory without stress.
MVP of the match was named Stelios Argyropoulos – Kanakakis, who was also the top scorer of our National Team with 3 goals. The second match of our national team is scheduled for Wednesday (19/7) at 11:30 against Kazakhstan, while on Friday (21/7) at 7:30 it faces the USA. The first place in Group A and the direct qualification to the quarter-finals will probably be decided in the third match.
In Group A’s other matchday 1 game, the USA beat Kazakhstan 18-5.
