An EUBC “Station” Conference, in the History of Boxing, the Oldest Olympic Sport, took place in Istanbul, with decisions that cause an “earthquake” for the evolution and development of the Sport.
The Greek President of the European Boxing Federation EUBC, Mr. Yiannis Filippatos, received everyone’s congratulations both for his pioneering ideas and for his decisions for the progress and prosperity of Boxing abroad.
The hall held at the extraordinary EUBC Congress was filled with applause at the official announcement by Mr. Philippatos that the headquarters of the European Boxing Federation will be moved to Monaco with the famous Monaco Casino as Official Sponsor. Shortly afterwards the EUBC President left the Conference participants speechless when he revealed that for the first time in history, €1,000,000 will be awarded to the winner of the EUBC Elite Cup at the Championship which will be held in Montenegro on October 21, 2023.
The President of the Hellenic Boxing Federation Mr. Haris Mariolis participated in the Conference stressing that the presence of the EOP was crowned with absolute success and clearly highlighted the needs and priorities of the Sport.
Mr. Mariolis, within the framework of the conference, had a series of close, constructive contacts with the leadership and many executives of the EUBC from whom he was informed and exchanged opinions on the key issues concerning Pan-European Boxing.
“We had an excellent conference in Istanbul, with decisions that take Boxing very high thanks to the great action of EUBC President Mr. Philippatos. All the Presidents of all the European Federations are excited about the pioneering decisions of the EUBC and united as a fist we only have the goal of the development and progress of the Sport. At the conference we also put a lot of emphasis on young boxers and how to encourage young people to take up Sports and Boxing in particular. Our goal is for Boxing to enter the hearts of the entire sports-loving world,” said the President of the Hellenic Boxing Federation, Mr. Haris Mariolis.
