In the past, Koutsianikoulis has also worn the jerseys of Ergotelis, PAOK, OFI, AEL, Olympiakos Volos, Doxas Drama and Anagennisis Karditsa.

Vassilis at a young age stood out with his special talent and was called to the Nikos Nioplia Youth National Team, when he was playing for Iraklis Chalkis. He has made more than 200 appearances in Superleague 1, 30 appearances in Superleague 2, has played in the Europa League as well as in the National team (Youths & Hopes) while among others he has worn the shirt of Ergotelis, PAOK, OFI, Larissa and Olympiakos Volos.
