Serie A President: “It is not possible to have 75% fullness in the stadiums and 100% in the cinemas”

Serie A president Paolo Dal Pino has expressed his dissatisfaction with the occupancy rates in Italian stadiums.

Specifically, he argued that it is not possible to have 75% occupancy in the stadiums and 100% in the cinema, which is an enclosed space.

“It is not possible for the percentage to be 75% in the stadiums and 100% in the cinemas. Sunday’s Milan derby with Inter was a great advertisement and it is a pity that the stadium was not full.

“It is also a pity that Italy, in a decisive match against Switzerland, will not be able to have full support from its fans at the Rome Olympics”, he said initially.

“We have fewer infections and we are much more ahead of the vaccination compared to England and Spain, which for months now have 100% of the capacity in the stadiums.

There could be extra revenue of € 1.5 million from the Milan and Inter derby. We did not ask for aid but only the installment of tax contributions for the second half of 2021.

Italian fans should not be surprised if the country’s big teams are forced to sell players. “They do not have the resources to compete.”
