The coach of Olympiakos was satisfied in his statements after the victory over Genk with a score of 1-0 in Faliro, Diego Martinez.

The Spanish coach, standing for the team spirit shown by his team, sounded the alarm about the inaccuracy in the passes, while among other things he emphasized that neither of the two teams is the favorite for the qualification.

Finally, Diego Martinez stood in support of the Olympiacos community, which he thanked for their presence.

Diego Martinez’s statements in detail:

For what he keeps from the match: “Thank you to the people who came and helped us. It gave us a big boost. They helped us a lot to get the win. From our side it seemed that we were quite tired, since it was our first official game. I really liked the spirit of the team, the personality we showed and the teamwork. We had good moments in the game”.

What he didn’t like: “We had a period in the first half where we were too loose and made the wrong passes. It was a shame there because from the inaccuracy in our balls we lost the opportunity to create something good. Let’s not forget that we had an opponent who is in good shape and more ready”.

As for whether Olympiacos is the favorite: “There are never favorites in football, especially when it comes to these competitions. We see that the teams are very close”.

On whether he will be improved in the rematch: “We have to improve. It is a process that must continue. Day by day we must improve. I am satisfied with the players who were not well prepared and played and gave everything. I’m talking about Alexandropoulos and El Kaabi who did a few training sessions, but they played and gave it their all. I don’t want to speak for the whole team. He is grateful to the world. We completed 623 days without a victory in Karaiskakis and today we managed to get the victory with his help”.
