A day after their notification, Aris, with a relevant announcement, takes a position on the measures against violence. The yellow ones first of all point out that these measures that were decided earlier are correct in principle.
They express their displeasure at the fact that no one from the team was invited to the meeting with Aleksandar Ceferin and emphasize that “PAE is working on a framework of concrete proposals, which will contribute to the substantial solution of the problem”, which will be sent to UEFA.
The announcement of PAE Aris in detail:
The measures, which were announced by the Prime Minister, after the meeting with the President of UEFA, Mr. Aleksander Ceferin and the representatives of the administrations of PAE Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, A.E.K. and P.A.O.K., are in principle correct, the most basic of which, however, have been decided in the past.
It is obvious, given the continuation and tragic outcome of violent incidents of fan violence, that these measures are either not implemented correctly or are not sufficient to effectively deal with the phenomenon of violence inside and outside the stadiums.
PAE ARIS was not invited to this meeting even though it belongs to the five Greek teams that participate in the UEFA European competitions and has experienced tragic events with the murders of Alkis Kampanos and Tosko Bozadziski, a fact that we pointed out in our letters to the Prime Minister and President of UEFA, who both graciously responded and encouraged the initiatives we have already undertaken.
The Administration of PAE ARIS, with the President, Irini Karypidis and the participation of all administrative and sports actors, have taken important initiatives towards the substantial elimination of the mentality that leads to fan violence, as it is based much more on phenomena, such as recruitment young people and the creation of a perception of sports hostility on and off the pitches.
More specifically, it has undertaken important actions to combat violence and discrimination, organizing monthly campaigns to eliminate violence in schools, actively promotes actions and policies against anti-Semitism and racism, cooperates with international organizations and practically supports in every possible way the promotion of the above purposes.
It is everyone’s deep conviction that without measures, such as commitment and dynamic policy in practice by the administrations, but also by the sports players of the PAE for zero violence, the problem is not going to be solved, especially as instead of the competition between the groups they are promoted through incendiary statements and practices the exact opposite messages.
Everyone’s commitment to a single sports policy to eliminate violence must be included in the government’s proposed measures and must be strictly adhered to by all, just as we all must, through the example of fruitful dialogue between team managements, give the message to society , the fans and the fans.
PAE ARIS is working on a framework of concrete proposals, which will contribute to the essential solution of the problem, which we will send to UEFA.
