Greek society remains shocked after murder of the unfortunate 29-year-old, who on Monday night, August 7, was found in New Philadelphia with his friends, waiting for the match of his favorite team in Europe, but fell victim to the blind fan hatred of its hooligans Dinamo Zagreb and their Greek accomplices, losing his life so unjustly.
The Union is trying in every way to honor the memory of the unfortunate Michalis and with its announcement it announced that a series of actions will be followed in the next period, such as the naming of a street near the stadium, while in tomorrow’s (19/08) rematch with the Croatians his parents will be found in OPAP Arena.
The announcement of PAE AEK:
PAE AEK announces that in Saturday’s match (19/8) against Dinamo Zagreb at the OPAP Arena, the family of the deceased Michalis Katsouris will be hosted. It is the least we can do in the first phase, to make it clear that the loss of Michalis is a loss for the AEK family and that his family is also our family.
From here on, in memory of Michalis, there will be a series of actions by PAE AEK, some of which in collaboration with other organizations. Without it being necessary to disclose from today the full content and number of these actions, we announce that PAE AEK undertakes, in the name of Michalis, the provision of three scholarships to students who will win the Panhellenic exams.
Also, on the initiative of PAE AEK, the naming of a street near our stadium is underway in memory of Michalis.
This will be followed by a series of initiatives focusing on the issues of combating football-related violence. Among which there will be actions in the Kids’ Club of PAE AEK, as well as commemorative events and at the same time joy of football in the Eagle Square outside the OPAP Arena, as a tribute to our Michalis.
Also, workshops on violence and how to deal with it, with the audience coming from schools all over Greece.
Collaboration with international agencies for actions focused on combating violence.
