Demis on the most difficult moment of his career: “I didn’t want to sign, I was isolated”

by

In the period before he completed his transfer to Anderlecht from AEKcharacterized the most difficult moment of his football career Demis Nikolaidis.

The once great striker in a video he uploaded to his personal account on instagramreferred to the summer of 1998 where he was a breather from the Belgian club, although he did not want to sign there, stressing that he was isolated and considering whether he should continue his career with the “yellow and black” or leave.

The most difficult moment in my career was when my transfer to Anderlecht was all over in 1998. All I had to do was sign. I had gone to Belgium to sign and for some reason I didn’t want to sign. They wouldn’t let me leave there. I told them that I would come back and then sign, but they also understood something and wouldn’t let me go. I finally left without signing.

Then I was isolated for a few days and I was thinking about what to do, whether to leave or stay at AEK. I was talking to my father, my sister and everyone was telling me to leave. In fact, they were a little irritated because I didn’t want to leave. I remember this as something difficult in my career. I didn’t have many hard times. Griefs exist, as in all professions. My joys were much more, so I remember having a little difficulty there“, were his words Demi Nikolaidis.
