The athletes of the women’s volleyball team of Panathinaikos received on Monday at the start of the preparation of the new season the welcome from the president of Erasitechnis, Panagiotis Malakate, the Vice-President, Dimitris Vranopoulos, the General Chief, Sotiris Nikas, the President of the Financial Committee, Dimitris Gondikas, the Race Director, Sotiris Pantaleon, and Roulis Agrapidakis.
The preparation started with the presence of: Penny Roga, Maret Grothes, Natalia Metaxas, Irini Hatziefstratiadou, Ilioni Kelesidis, Maria Jenitsaridis, Kenia Karkases, Marianna Belia, Sheridan Atkinson, Sofia Vasilantonaki and Theodora Fumaki.
The captain, Athina Papafotiou, will be integrated in the coming days, while for Martina Samandan this will happen when she completes her obligations with the Croatian national team.
The coach of the team, Yiannis Kalmazidis, said: “We are definitely expecting a great effort both as management and as staff and as athletes. We have made good moves in terms of transfers and outside of transfers.
I am referring to the training that we will have for the new headquarters in Metz. As goals we have the will and the ability to… hit high. There are many things that can happen in one year, but we want to be prepared to claim the goals we have set.”
