by

Today (24/8) at the offices of OHE, the draw for the A2 national division women’s handball schedule for the 2023-24 season took place, with the participation of AS Anikis Dionysos (ASAD) in the South Group.

As it emerged from the draw, AS Anixis Dionysos will travel for his maiden appearance in the A2 championship in Chania, where he will face EACH Chania away from home in the premiere.

The President of ASAD Marios Loukatos and the coach of the women’s team, Kostas Kotsiras, on the occasion of the draw for the championship of the A2 National category, stated:

Marios Loukatos, ASAD President: “It is very important that a team from Dionysos and Northeast Attica succeeds and competes after 7 years since its establishment, in a national category. The goal is to utilize the talents of the region, to learn new girls and boys for handball, to love sports, to set goals and to realize their dreams, just as the current girls of the team do, many of them learned and played handball in local arenas. We are slowly building the team, we want on our side the financial support of the local community and the support of the Municipality, so that a new closed gymnasium can be built in Dionysos for the sport of handball and we are not forced to migrate to OAKA. Regarding the draw for the championship, I think that our group is competitive, the position of the champion that leads to promotion to A1 will have more than one contender and regarding our team, our coach Kostas Kotsiras has the experience to create a worthy team that will have a decent competitive presence in the championship”

Kostas Kotsiras, ASAD Coach: “We are a new team with an average age of 20 years. Our initial goal for this year is to create a homogeneous group, to keep young girls involved in sports, even though most of them are students, to develop, to be able to highlight more girls from our academies, to have fun with the sport and enjoy it. Results come second for us this year. We attach great importance to our development. Little by little and step by step, may the championship be completed with health for all female athletes”
