Fantastic performance by Jonas Valanciunas who scored a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. His worthy supporter is Normantas who scored 18 points in as many minutes of participation. The only survivor from the Egyptian “wreck” was Asem Murray who scored 14 points.
Totally dominant throughout the match, Lithuania took the lead to +31 just before the end of the game.
Lithuania also dominated in rebounds, collecting 53, of which 22 were offensive. In the first quarter, Lithuania quickly took a 14-point lead (26-12), while the halftime score was 46-34.
The crescendo continued in the second half for the Lithuanians with the difference of 12 points jumping to 17 (70-53). The fourth period was also the most impressive, since Valanciunas and Normantas gave a recital of accuracy, bringing the score to +31 (90-59) with the final score being 93-67.
