Shocked Mainz and… Eintracht stole the point in stoppage time!

by

After an unexpectedly exciting game as it turned out, Mainz and Eintracht Frankfurt drew 1-1 in the 2nd matchday of this year’s Bundesliga.

The home team won a penalty for Koch’s hand in Viper’s attempt, in the 23rd minute, however, with the use of VAR, referee Dankert changed his decision.

Even so, of course, Mainz got a goal back thanks to Lee’s header three minutes later, with the North Korean’s header marking his 12th goal in the German league since 2021, where he has been competing in it.

The Eagles failed to threaten thereafter, seeing Knauf sent off with a second yellow card in the 61st minute, leaving them with 10 men for the rest of the game…

Finally, against the flow of the match, Eintracht found the long-awaited equalizing goal in the first minute of stoppage time, with Marmus making it 1-1!

A result that kept the Palatinate side winless with a point, while the visitors remained unbeaten and now have four points.
