European Gold Champion Angeliki Sdouga

Another “golden page” in the History of Greek Boxing was written by our National Team of Pampaides – Pangorasides, winning another gold medal, at the Pan-European Championship, which ended on Friday, July 25, in Maribor, Slovenia.

Our National Anthem was once again heard everywhere and the hearts of all Greeks were filled with emotion and pride. The Golden European Champion Angeliki Sdouga deservedly climbed to the highest step of the podium and with her Greek Boxing, continuing the tradition it has created, in the last 2 years, of playing a leading role in all European and World Championships.

In detail, in the competitive field, the Gold Medal was won by Angeliki Sdouga, in the 40 kg category, against the Englishwoman Teigan King.

Dynamic, passionate with a technique that would be the envy of top athletes in the world, Angeliki Sdouga entered the ring, in the final of 40 kg and made everyone “talk”. Angeliki was determined, she wouldn’t get out of the ring if the referee didn’t raise her own hand up, if she didn’t win the Gold Medal! Our Greek athlete succeeded by holding a sensational fight, perhaps one of the best that took place in this year’s Pan-European Boxing Championship for Pampaids – Pagorasids!

Congratulations on winning the Gold Medal were expressed by the president of the Hellenic Boxing Federation, Mr. Haris Mariolis: “We have the pleasure and honor of congratulating an excellent athlete, who highlighted the name of our country, climbing to the highest step of the podium. Winning the gold medal at the pan-European championships is a testament to her dedicated work, belief in her dreams and never-ending push to push her limits, hard training and amazing talent.

I want to express my warm congratulations to the entire Greek team that participated in the pan-European championship. Your effort, your dedication and your sportsmanship represent the high quality of Greek Boxing and fill us with pride.
