“No smoke bombs, sparklers and lasers”: AEK’s remarks ahead of Antwerp

In view of the match against Antwerp tomorrow Wednesday (30/8, 22.00) we remind you that this is a Champions League match, as well as the matches of the play offs of the competition have exactly the same requirements and are played under exactly the same conditions from UEFA’s point of view, as well as the corresponding ones in the group phase.

It is clear, therefore, that we must give great importance to the respect of all safety rules and cooperate with those responsible for their observance. The game against Dinamo Zagreb is the best example of our behavior in and around the OPAP Arena. With this behavior came the big qualification. We must emphasize that UEFA has also characterized the match with Antwerp as “high profile” and pays special attention to the smooth conditions of its holding.

The doors of the OPAP Arena will open at 19.00. From that time onwards, there will be very strict pre-checks and no one without a ticket will be able to approach the entrances.

No sports fan who will bring a backpack or hold a bag will be able to pass the controls and enter the stadium.

As it happened with Dinamo Zagreb, so in the match with Antwerp there is no room to light a single smoke generator or launch even a sparkler and of course any use of laser devices is strictly prohibited. Any offending behavior may mean closing the stands in subsequent matches or even a home ground penalty.

We are also forced to remind you that the internal security camera system will work as it always does and it is impossible not to flag anyone who tries to light a smoke generator, throw a flare or use a laser.

In addition to the legal implications, he will be banned from future entry into the OPAP Arena. This measure has already been implemented and will continue to be implemented. All these penalties also apply to any offending behavior either when entering or staying inside the stadium. And we remind you once again: It is impossible not to be marked by security cameras.

It is also very important to avoid punishment risks that the image regarding the corridors is even better compared to the match against Dinamo. No one should sit in an aisle.

We must definitely avoid banners with content that can give rise at the beginning of the match to create serious problems for AEK. Any banners or placards with unsportsmanlike, provocative, abusive or racist content will not pass the controls and therefore will not be allowed on the field.

Once again, we emphasize that no child will enter the stadium without a ticket.

It is also important that we all get to the stadium as early as possible to avoid queues and inconvenience. There is a very strict control process.
