Staikos: “Perhaps a draw would have been a fairer result”

Many congratulations to the players and the crowd, we saw a team that passionately fought a great battle, but without getting a point or points from the game. For long periods we blocked the combination game of Panathinaikos, we pressed high, we put the opponent in a difficult position. It was a match with few phases, most of them were made with side kicks or recoveries in transitions of the ball.

Perhaps a fairer result would be a draw, but with teams like this one concentration or inaction can pay for it. Work continues, we need to improve things. As an appearance, it gives us optimism, but we don’t stop there.

I don’t want to talk about refereeing, my role is to see what we did and what we didn’t do well based on our plan. Others will judge it as a matter of arbitration. Refereeing is also part of the game.

The team shows that they can claim the result everywhere with any opponent. But not with a little good looks to stay with it and believe that we are something more.

That’s the thing, that’s the development we have from last year and we have to keep whatever good elements we have. The duration is required and we must also be mentally balanced, with daily effort in training and in a good mood.
