The much-discussed move of Luis Rubiales after winning the Women’s World Cup by the Spanish national team was criticized by the country’s men’s representative group, in a statement it issued.
It is recalled that during the celebrations of winning the trophy, the president of the Spanish Football Federation kissed its striker on the lips “furious rocha” and of Pachuca, Jennifer Hermoso. An act for which he not only received the wrath of numerous natural and legal persons related to sports and the protection of victims of gender violence. At the same time, he was placed on “ice” pending the results of the ongoing investigation into the incident. The last to criticize the 46-year-old was the men’s national team of the country of the Iberian Peninsula.
“We would like to express our displeasure at what we consider unacceptable behavior of Mr. Rubiales, who did not live up to the organization he represents”, says Alvaro Morata, on behalf of himself and his teammates in Luis de la Fuente’s team.
“We firmly and unequivocally declare in favor of the values that this sport stands for“, continued the 30-year-old.
“Spanish football must be a driving force for respect, inclusion and diversity, and set a good example with its behavior on and off the pitch“, concluded the Atletico Madrid striker.
