THE Hellas will host the Women’s Eurobasket 2025! For the first time there will be co-organization by four federations and in our country the matches of a group, but ALSO of the final phase, will be held!
Greece, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic will be the four co-host countries after the approval of the FIBA ​​Europe executive committee and these countries will become the big stage of the 40th EuroBasket Women, one of the biggest events in the FIBA ​​calendar.
Each country will host a group – the cities will be announced in the next period – and the final phase will be held in Athens, the city where the European champion will be crowned.
The first time Eurobasket was held in two countries was in 2015 by Romania and Hungary, the second in 2019 by Serbia and Latvia, the third in 2021 by Spain and France and the most recent in 2023 by Slovenia and Israel.
A total of 36 countries including all four organizers will compete in the qualifying phase of EuroBasket 2025, however these four countries will compete in the same group, which differs from the way it has been played so far.
The other 32 teams will be drawn into eight groups of four and will compete for the remaining 12 places for the final stage.
The draw for the qualifying phase will be held on September 19 at the House of Basketball in Miss, Switzerland. The first window will take place in November 2023.

It is the second time, after 2003, that the Federation has undertaken such an event for women and shows our will to strengthen women’s basketball and take it to the next level, as well as our practical interest in the substantial development of the sport . The next two years until the organization of the Eurobasket will be adapted, as far as the EEC is concerned, to actions to promote and upgrade women’s basketball in Greece. The road will be long and arduous. The goals will be high.
