Legendary Schröder crowned Germany world champion!

Both teams were quite nervous at the beginning of the second half, with the score remaining tied (51-51) until the 23rd minute. The Serbs then lost their minds completely, making one error after another, with the Germans on the other hand taking full control and starring Schroeder and Voigtmann making individual scores 13-2, for +11 (64-53), at 27′. The psychology in Pesic’s team remained at… nadir, with the Germans on the other hand closing the third period at +12 (69-57) thanks to the Wagner brothers.

The Serbians started harder in the fourth quarter and with Abramović and Petrusev they reduced the difference to single digits (71-64) in the 32nd minute. Through its defense, Serbia reacted and got closer (73-69), with Voigtman hitting a three-pointer for +7 (76-69) of Herbert’s team, in the 35th minute. A succession of misguided attacks followed from both, with Fr. Wagner to make 2/2 shots for +9 (78-69), at 38′. With a personal 6-0 run, Abramović kept Serbia alive (78-75), in the 39th minute. Then Schroeder made 1/2 from the line, with Gudurich making 2/2 and bringing the match to the basket (79-77), 40” before the end. With a boyish basket by Schroeder, Germany took a “breather” (81-77), at 21.4”. On the next attack, Abramović missed, Serbia got the offensive rebound, but Guduric made the mistake. With a pair of shots Schroeder sealed the victory that came with the final 83-77.
