Joao Silva announced the Ionian

Reinforced with experience in the strike line o Ionic.

The Nice team announced the acquisition of the 33-year-old striker, Joao Silvawho with his experience wants to contribute to the effort for promotion to the big division.

The Portuguese has experience on European pitches having played for Everton, among others. PalermoSalernitana and Pasos Ferreira, while he was international with the u20 & u21 of his country, having scored three goals with the national team.

PAE Ionikos is pleased to announce the acquisition of João Pedro Pereira Silva.

The new footballer in our team is 33 years old, he plays as a striker and has a lot of experience on the European pitches, having played in Everton, Palermo, Salernitana and Pasos Ferreira, among others.

He started his career with Aves, for whom he was the third top scorer in the 2009/10 season in Portugal’s second division with 13 goals. His excellent performances made Everton pay the sum of 700 thousand euros to acquire him, and he then played on loan at Leiria and Vitoria Setúbal.

This was followed by a transfer to Levski Sofias, which also paid a respectable amount to the English team to buy him. João Silva played in the Europa League, but also in the Bulgarian league, scoring 10 goals in the season.

It followed suit for the Portuguese striker as he played in Italy for Bari and Palermo, making appearances in Serie B and Serie A. This was followed by Portugal’s Pasos Ferreira for one season and then a return to Italy where he wore the jersey of Avellino and Salernitana.

Feirense was the next stop in his career, making 55 appearances in Portugal’s first division. From the summer of 2019 to January 2022 he played in the Chinese league, where he played for Nantong Zhiyun, Zibo Cuju and Hebei FC.

He returned to Portugal, where he wore the shirt of Estrella Amadora and had a significant contribution with 6 goals in the promotion of the team to the first division of the league!

The 33-year-old striker, 1.89m tall, is also an international with Portugal’s u20 & u21, having even scored three goals for the national team.
