With Kosovo now set for knockout, everything about qualifying will be decided in the last four matches between Switzerland, Romania and Israel. In Bucharest, however, on Tuesday night (12/09), we saw it all! First of all, the match of the 6th matchday stopped at 18′ and resumed 50 minutes later! The reason was a banner, which the Romanian fans “raised” and wrote “Kosovo is Serbia»but also howMoldova is Romania». At the same time, dozens of anti-Kosovo and pro-Serbia slogans were heard in Bucharest’s “Arena Nationala”!
At 18′, therefore, o French referee Delazo stopped the match, the necessary recommendations were made, while Romanian players approached the fans in the stadium, asking them to stop chanting and take down the banners. This did not happen and five minutes later, the referee sent the players of both teams to the dressing room.
It should be noted that for at least half an hour the Romanians refused to take down the banners and consultations upon consultations were held as to the fate of the race. Fortunately, they were convinced to take them down and the game resumed after almost an hour with her warning that, if there were new provocations, it would be terminated definitively at the expense of Romania. The interruption, however, seemed to affect the home team mainly. Upon restarting the match, Kosovo had two phases, in order to take the lead! Everything changed, however, in the 42nd minute, with Murici leaving his team with ten players, facing a second yellow card.
Despite the numerical advantage, Romania were finding it incredibly difficult to even create a chance! With the completion of an hour of play, moreover, the home team began to live the snakes, when, in the 61st minute, they saw the invincible Muric to say “no” to his penalty Chief Stantsios! The last one, for the record, was the one who approached the fans at 18′, asking them to take down the banners, so that the game could continue, as a result of which he was loudly booed!
From fate, however, its 30-year-old player Damak (Saudi Arabia) he turned nice in the 83rd minute, “writing” the 1-0 with a strong shot and with the help of the crossbar! From then on, the game caught fire! The Kosovars, despite being down 10, went on the attack to equalize on at least two occasions they craved the ”Nationala Arena”, which also saw the former player of Atromitos, Dennis Alibek, to lose unimaginable tete-a-tete! Finally, the calm for the hosts came in the third minute of stoppage time, with the Michaela to make the final 2-0.
