The new change in the Codes of Ethics of the EPO, which throws in the… soft, now, as many teams are involved in match-fixing. In particular, there is now a penalty of three points deduction and a fine for “simple rigging” and only for “serious rigging” there is a relegation penalty! Apart from the fact, however, that in itself this separation is scandalousit is not even specified which cases will be considered “serious”.
What is foreseen for the most… light cases? Penalty of deduction of three points and a fine of 100,000 euros if it is a team in the first division, while the amounts are reduced for teams in the lower divisions. In short, anyone can cheat with a good lawyer to be judged as a… mere setup, avoiding relegation!
What we must remember is that the older version of the EPO Code of Ethics he talked about relegation to the next category, while the fine was at least three times, without any separation in the categories, in which the team participates!
It’s really worth wonderingmoreover, how is it possible, especially now, when the investigation into the case of the illegal betting ring is “ongoing”, while, at the same time, FIFA has decided to intervene in the issue with the abundance of Sportradar files on Greek football matches, that the EPO is proceeding in such a change!
However, what Kyriakos Thomaidis mentions in “dikisports” is typical. “They throw everything at Bartzis (so-called head of the EPO’s Legal Service) for the -3 and everyone is making a fool of themselves now“…
See what Article 27 of the EPO Code of Ethics now states:
