One week before entering the battle of the Euro Cup qualifiers, the men’s water polo team of Peristeri announced the acquisition of Yiannis Beristianou, adding a very experienced defender to their roster. The 35-year-old pole vaulter competed for the last two years in the National team, with whom he had 57 appearances and 40 goals in the A1 championship. Beristianos started his career at Panionios, where he played for many years and competed in two LEN Trophy (now Euro Cup) finals. He then wore the cap of Ethnikos, Apollon and Hydraikos, before returning in 2021 to Piraeus.
“I am very happy to have come to Peristeri. It is a very organized club that provides us with everything we need in our work every day. Many thanks to the administration, the president and coach Loudis for trusting me. I wish us to do as well as possible, starting with the European competitions, and then the domestic competitions. I will give 100% in order to help the team fulfill its goals and achieve the best results,” said Beristianos, after formalizing his deal with the western suburbs club.
