Toulouse stopped Marseille in the Velodrome

by

First home loss in this year’s Ligue 1 for Marseille!

Although they were superior for most of the match with ToulouseMarseilles failed to convert the chances they created into goals, staying at 0-0in their second consecutive draw after the one at home to Nantes.

The opponent of AEK in the 3rd group of the Europa League, had the initiative of the movements but they never managed to “unlock” the very well organized defense of the guests.

In the 28th minute, Restes stopped Aubameyang, while in the stoppage time of the first half the Toulouse goalkeeper had an answer both to a shot by Vitinia and to a free kick by Lodi. A Ronzie header in the 58th minute also hit the post, while Klaus also came very close to the goal in the 78th minute. Despite Marseille’s suffocating pressure, Toulouse held on, with the score remaining 0-0 until the end.

Four very difficult games follow for Marseille, against Ajax (21/9) and Brighton (5/10) for the Europa League, while for the league they will face away from home Paris Saint-Germain (24/9) and Monaco (30/9) ).
