In a legendary evening at the packed SEF, the KAE Olympiacos honor the greatest ever to wear the jersey with the crowned teenager on the chest!

At the spectacular event in honor of “Kill Bill” everyone was there. From the thousands of fans of the team, his family, to his former teammates in the National and Olympic teams, coaches, friends and “rivals”, everyone gave their “present” in the Faleri stadium to honor the great ‘V Span’. And those who could not be at the stadium, sent their own special message via social media and video, like for example Giannis Antetokounmpo!

In a very beautiful setting in the center of the field, a small, as well as historic, group was set up consisting of the presidents of the “red and white” KAE, Kostas Papanikolaou, Giorgos Printezis, Sasa Vezenkov and of course Vassilis Spanoulis. With them, were the two Euroleague trophies won by Piraeus in the 2011 and 2012 seasons!

Initially, the presidents of the group took the floor, with Panagiotis Angelopoulos to talk about the leading basketball player in the history of Olympiakos, while in turn o George Angelopoulos emphasized that: “Spanoulis earned the title of leader by himself with his presence in the locker room and on the floor.”

It was the turn of Kostas Papanikolaou and Sasha Vezenkov, with the current Sacramento Kings player making his appearance in a Spanoulis jersey. From his side, Giorgos Printezis was moved with what he said about his longtime companion and friend.

But where the… cement really fell in SEF, was when the Vassilis Spanoulis took the floor, breaking hearts with what he said, both for his family, and for the fact that he gave everything and always wanted the good of Olympiakos!

This beautiful ceremony was completed in the best way, with legendary jersey with No.7 rising to the SEF sky and Vassilis Spanoulis, visibly moved, to watch the process together with his wife and their six children.
