Brignoli: “To redeem ourselves and win something this season”

How is your experience in Greece?



“Here at Panathinaikos I feel very good, there are all the elements needed to compete at the maximum. Last year we had a great season, but unfortunately we didn’t manage to win the league. There is a specific format here. The top six teams compete against each other and after a series of matches the champion team is decided. Two weeks ago, though, we missed the Champions League qualifiers and will be in the Europa League. We will try to redeem ourselves and win something in the current season».

For Vilena who arrived at Panathinaikos from the Italian Serie A:

“Started and integrated well. It is not easy for anyone to change teams and leagues. There may be ups and downs, especially in the first phase, but we are sure that it will give us a lot of help».

Are you thinking of returning to your home country in the future?

“I feel very comfortable here. It’s clear that you always think fondly of the country you were born and raised in, but to take me away from Athens for the next few years and interrupt an adventure of this level would have to be a very interesting proposition. It has to come from a team that sees me as the main one and not as a substitute».

“I’m very happy for Ivan, first of all. I had heard him shortly before the match and I wished him good luck, he would be happy to meet us again in the Champions League. They are unique, incredible feelings. It had already happened to him in a match between Ascoli and Juve Stabia.
