By presidential decree, 27-year-old Sergeant George Voulgaris was awarded the rank of colonel
Hearts were broken today in Mouzaki Karditsa where relatives and friends said the last bitter goodbye to the 27-year-old Special Forces non-commissioned officer Giorgos Voulgaris who lost his life in a horrible way in Libya.
The family’s pain is unspeakable.
The body of Giorgos Voulgaris arrived at his birthplace, Mouzaki Karditsa, plunging relatives, friends and the entire village into mourning and endless pain.
The words came with difficulty from everyone’s lips.
Muzaki talks about an excellent child, who loved the whole world, adored the army and for that reason he selflessly followed the orders given by his superiors.
His colleagues in the armed forces bid him farewell with words of deep appreciation and pride.
“He was a worthy member of the Armed Forces, who, fulfilling his duty every day, honored our service with his offer,” it was emphasized at his funeral.
By presidential decree, the 27-year-old senior sergeant Georgios Voulgaris was awarded the rank of colonel… Vice-captain Glykeria Memekidou was given the rank of rear admiral and Rear Admiral Evangelia Andreadakis the rank of vice-captain.
