Second place and outside the Challenge Cup, Markopoulos

by

Markopoulos comfortably defeated Albania’s Skanderbeg 3-0 in their third and final group match of the Balkan Women’s Volleyball Cup held in Kosovo, but finished second and will not participate in this year’s Challenge Cup.

This after Galatasaray’s 3-0 set win over “host” Drita, a result that gave them first place with an absolute 3-0 and took them to the third ranked European interclub competition.

Asimina Nikologianni won the prize for the best winger of the tournament, while the Belgian Nara Nagels won the prize for the best passer of the tournament.
