Regarding the Sunday (24/9, 17:30) match against Panaitolikos for the 5th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League, Aris’ coach spoke, Akis Manzios.
The 53-year-old technician emphasized that although his team has shown signs of improvement but is still far from the level he wishes for, he referred to the injury problems that exist in his roster, while he said he was optimistic about the continuation.
What Aris’ coach said in detail:
“It is a short time that we have been in the team, to say that we can be happy about the improvement of the team. Any signs of improvement are important, but we are a long way from what I want and what I think the team can deliver. That’s why I say it takes time. With the work we are doing and with the work we will do during the break of the championship, I think we will present ourselves better in the future”.
About the recent derby with PAOK and the problems he has to deal with: “From a competitive and psychological point of view, we are in good shape after the match against PAOK, but we have injury problems. Djurasek and Darinda face problems, first of all. Darida is in better shape than the others and hopefully he will be around for Sunday’s game. Zul will certainly be near us. We will have one more player, although his absence was long. Rupp, who had a knee problem, will not be around. He visited his doctor in Germany and we are waiting for him to return.”.
For the match with Panaitolikos: “It won’t be an easy game. What interests us is to see our own team and how we will be. Also, what we’re interested in is seeing how much we can improve each week. However, it will be a different game compared to PAOK, with a completely different approach. We have been working all week in the areas of possession and creation. You cannot immediately get the results you want, but there is trust in the group and the work we do. We are optimistic about the continuation. We go into a week with three games and we have to be 100% ready for them.”.
