OFI-Atromitos

Atromitos managed to come away with the victory from last year’s match between the two teams in Crete and that was only the second in their history in their away matches against OFI.

In fact, a four-match unbeaten run by OFI was completed for Atromitos, regardless of home, which was broken in the match between the two teams for the Stoiximan Playouts of the championship, where the Heraklion team prevailed 3-2 in Peristeri.

Both last year’s victory of Atromitos in Crete and this one on February 24, 2008 were 0-1. Matches in which both teams have goals and those in which only one scores are divided. In eight of the 15 games both have found the net, in six only one has scored and there is also a goalless draw.

Dimitris Papadopoulos was the first footballer to find the net twice for OFI against Atromitos in 1976, followed by Ore in 1980-81, Sfakianakis in 2006-07, Sardiniero in 2020-21 and Durmisai in November 2021.

The history of the matches between the two teams starts from 1960-61 in the then Second National League and it took several years for them to be in the First National League/Super League. This happened in 1976-77, with their first game taking place in Heraklion and ending with OFI winning 3-1 (16′ Papadopoulos, 19′ Karaiskos, 55′ Papadopoulos – 36′ Tsoumakis).
