The return to victories and good performances was made by Aris on Sunday afternoon (24/09)!
Having on an excellent day the Lorraine Moronwho succeeded two goals and reached four with the team’s shirt, the “yellows”, in their best appearance this year, prevailed 3-0 of Panaitolikos in “Kl. Vikelidis” for the 5th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League!
The final score was made by Lazaros Christodoulopoulos in the 85th minute, scoring his first goal for Aris, on a night where his entire Akis Manziou he created many and even good chances, having the ability to score even more goals.
In the coach’s mind:
THE Akis Manzios lined up Aris with a 4-2-3-1 system. Cuesta found himself under the goal, with Odubazzo, Fabiano, Brambetz and Ferrari making up the foursome of the defense. Verstraat and Darida started in the midfield positions, with Zamora Menendez and Suleimanov, who took a first-team jersey for the first time, forming the attacking trio behind the promoted Moron.
On the other hand, Mr Gabriel Shurer he made the decision to leave behind the 3-5-2 and play for the first time with 4-2-3-1. Capino was in goal, with Mavria, Oikonomou, Bruno Duarte and Silva in defence. Peres and Baldasara started in the center, with Nuarte and Sengelia playing on the “wings” and Huanpi in the role of ten, behind Karelis.
The match:
The first minutes of the match were distinctive, with Mars to give space and measures on the playing field to Panaitolikos. A condition that his team took advantage of early Gabriel Shurer, creating the first good moment in the match, when Mavrias found him on the back of the defense in the 3rd minute Karelihe tried to “hang” Cuesta, with the Spanish keeper taking the lead.
From the quarter onward, Ares rev it up and with their actuators Suleimanov and Zamora, created some dangerous moments in Kapino’s frames. At 12′, his header Moron at the first post it went out, while three minutes later, after a period of time, his shot Menendez from the large area he fought bodies. In the 19th minute, it was Zamora’s turn to threaten, with his long-range shot difficult for Kapino to clear. A moment later, his drift shot Suleimanov passed by the hearth.
What the “yellows” couldn’t do earlier in these four phases, the Lorraine Moron succeeded in the 22nd minute. After a steal in the midfield area, the Spanish forward tried his foot from long and with an excellent drift shot surprise Kapinos, opening the scoring for Mars with his third goal this year!
From that point until the break, Ares dropped some of its intensity and pressure, but still maintained the reins of the race (58%-42% possession). The visitors made their presence felt in the 37th minute with Huanpi’s free kick against the wall, with Aris “replying” in the 42nd minute with Ferrari’s very good long shot.
As in the first half, so too on repeat, the first phase belonged to Panaitolikos again with Karelis. The Greek forward came out on the counter attack, but his choice to place from a difficult angle did not do him justice.
In the 54th minute, Ares… touched the 2-0, when Moron found himself in a tête-à -tête with Kapinos, he “dug” the ball over the Greek goalkeeper, with Mavria, who followed the phase, to drives saves on the line! Finally, seconds later, the Thessalonians found the second goal they were looking for with a beautiful collaboration of Menendez-Moron!
Specifically, in the 55th minute, the first “punched” in the area from the left, o Moron moved superbly on the first beam and with one center view scored his second personal goal tonight for the 2-0!
With morale high, the hosts continued to play at a high tempo looking for yet another goal. And they would have achieved it in the 57th minute if Stefanos Kapinos had not impressively pulled off the distant “shell” of Menendez! For his part, Panaitolikos tried to re-enter the match in 66′ and 67′, where he wasted two big moments, initially with Huanpi, and then with Economou. Two phases in which Cuesta said “no” to Agrinio’s players, keeping the hosts clean.
In the end, Aris – without charging particularly in the last 25 minutes of the match – found a third goal, effectively “cleaning up” the three points in the 85th minute. The scorer was Lazaros Christodoulopoulos, who took the rebound from Fabiano’s header that hit the crossbar, and with his own header scored his first goal in the Aris shirt, setting up the final 3-0!
MVP: Undoubtedly the highlight tonight was Laurent Moron. The 29-year-old Spanish forward of Aris was the one who with two goals of his own laid the “foundations” for his team’s three points, showing once again that this year he will be a point of reference inside the “box” for the Thessalonians.
The whistle: The match did not have many difficult phases for the referee, Aristoteli Diamantopoulos, who whenever necessary – as in Aris’ third goal – consulted the VAR. The phase of 51′ was noteworthy, where the assistant had indicated an offside position of an Aris player, but he let the phase develop. Of course, this misunderstanding came from the fact that there was a problem with his intercom, which was immediately restored.
Team compositions:
Aris (Akis Manzios): Cuesta, Odubazzo, Fabiano, Brambetz, Ferrari, Verstrate (75′ Joules), Darinda (87′ Panagidis), Suleimanov (Karlsson), Zamora, Menendez (75′ Christodoulopoulos), Moron (63′ Pardo).
