The Olympiakos men’s polo team officially enters the 2023-24 season this afternoon. The doubles of Greece welcome Jug Dubrovnik at 19:00 at Papastrateio for the premiere of the Champions League groups and they only want the victory.
Based on the new system of conducting the event (four groups of four teams), the “red and white” begin their duties with a very decisive match for the development of the group.
Hervo Kolianin said: “The first match of the season is a match for the Champions League. Jug are a very good team and a big club, the most difficult of the qualifiers. Every premiership is difficult, but I believe in the team and a win would give us a lot of confidence for the rest of the season. For sure, the most difficult group and every point is important for the team.”
For his part, Giorgos Dervisis underlined that: “We are looking forward to the premiere in our home with Youg. We have done a good preparation and we can’t wait to show it in our first official game. Jug Dubrovnik is a historic and always difficult team.
I believe we will show up ready after the good preparation we have done and we will give our best to win and get the three very important points that will give us a boost at the start of the Champions League”.
