The 5th Historica is here, renewed, to take you on a journey with its… wheels, through the history of classic steel bicycles.
In Rhodes, the initiators of the event (Giorgos Vogiatzis, Michalis Karpathakis and Nemra Bastiali) aspire to attract and share with pedal lovers the ultimate cycling experience, combining sport, culture and tasting.
“Every year we see the world embracing our effort, and that gives us the necessary push to become better. The bicycle is part of our daily life, of our carefree childhood. It is the vehicle that travels our thoughts… At the same time, the island is inextricably linked to cycling. The top Greek champions spent their best years here. And through the Bike Fair we organize, the younger ones can…. to meet”, was the first comment of Giorgos Vogiatzis and he added: “Our goal every year is for people to return to their first love of movement. Cycling works beneficially on our psyche. And tourists can discover the beauties and history of Rhodes by pedaling.”
The cycling festival calendar is full of activities and surprises for people of all ages.
THE EVENTS OF 5her HISTORICA:
October 12 to 19bicycles come to life at the exhibition of historic bicycles, in the new wing of Nestoridei Melathros.
On October 13, at 19.00, the start will be given to the intercollegiate track race, at the “Diagoras” municipal stadium.
On October 14, at 10.30 in the morning, the… children take the baton: They add color to the cycling Festival, behind the building of the South Aegean Region
The HISTORICA events culminate on Sunday, October 15, at 10.30 am, with the historic route of 50 kilometers. Start and finish at Liberty Square.
At the same time, in collaboration with the office of primary and secondary education in Rhodes, students will have the opportunity to attend the seminar on road behavior and environmental education, which is included in Historica’s activities every year.
The seminars will take place at the Museum of Modern Greek Art (new wing of Nestoridei Melathros).
On the 5ththe HISTORICA is organized by the cycling club Hibiscus of Rhodes, in collaboration with the Region of the South Aegean, the Municipal Organization of Culture and Sports of Rhodes (D.O.P.A.R.) and the Dodecanese Chamber.
