Rastavac: “Sad for the players, they really gave it their all”

After Ioannina and Agrinio, o Panathinaikos left with the “double” and the wide 4-1 and against the Starremaining… train in the province, thanks to two goals from the bench Ioannidis!

After the match, Milan Rastavac he stood at the press conference on the great effort made by his players, stressing however that if you don’t take advantage of your opportunities teams like Panathinaikos they will punish you.

In detail what Milan Rastavac said:

For what the match was decided: “I think that first of all there were all the right conditions to see a very good game as it finally happened. From our side, I think we played the best possible game we could based on the given moment in time in the league and where we are at the moment.

I think that at least until the 70th minute we were 100% in the game, we scored a goal which was disallowed and against this type of team like Panathinaikos if you can’t score an easy goal or turn the chances into goals then it’s very possible the opponent to punish you. As Panathinaikos did because against such strong teams you cannot control the pace of the game 100% for 90 minutes”.

For Panathinaikos: “Panathinaikos today proved why they are the team with the most possession so far in their games in the league. We had to choose very well the moments of pressure to be able to take advantage of some counter-attack, to find some empty spaces. I think that was partly in the first half and even more so in the second. We gave everything to press and create chances and I think for about 20 to 25 minutes we managed to do that to a pretty good degree. But from then on it wasn’t enough and in any case I’m sad because the players really gave it their all.”
